All you need to join our club is an interest in photography (and a camera!).

We are a friendly group of amateur and semi-pro photographers with a wide range of abilities from beginners to advanced, who meet together regularly. Although we do not teach photography in an academic way (you may wish to consider local Adult Education classes for that) we do aim to help you improve your photography with a programme which offers something for everyone, including:

• Practical workshops

• How to use your camera

• How to develop 'the seeing eye'

• One-to-one photography software tuition: getting the best from your digital images.

• Still-life sessions

• Portraiture studio work (We have our own well equipped photographic studio on site, which members may use for non-profit work).

• Lectures from visiting photographers who show their work and share their techniques and creative approaches to photography.

• Competitions for prints and digital images. We hold internal competitions and also go head-to-head with other clubs in the Federation of South London Photographic Societies competitions.

• We arrange social events and outings to places offering photographic opportunities.

Once a year we hold our annual exhibition and as a member you would be entitled to exhibit your work to the public.

The Club is a member of the South London Federation of Photographic Societies and Kent County Photographic Association (KCPA) our members are able to participate in the activities run by thes organisations. More information can be found on the the thier websites:

Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced photographer, and want help on any facet of photography, advice is always readily available from our own experts to help you improve your techniques. Why not come along to a few meetings and see what you think? There is no need to become a member immediately, you may attend four meetings as a guest.

Our season runs from the beginning of September to the end of July. We meet every Tuesday evening at 7.45pm, for an 8pm start, in Room 2, Shrewsbury House Community Centre Bushmoor Cresent, Shooters Hill, London, SE18.
